Jack Allen's Big Band Participates in Tim Hortons Annual Camp Day Fundraiser
Jack Allen's Big Band will perform an outdoor concert, free of charge, at Tim Hortons annual Camp Day Fundraiser on Wednesday, June 6, 2007, located at Tim Hortons, 1580 Jefferson Road, Henrietta, NY from 6:30pm - 8:00 pm. This fun-filled family event is in support of the Tim Horton Children's Foundation, a non profit charitable organization that sends economically disadvantaged children to camp.
Local Tim Hortons store owners, Meagen and John Lewendowski, invite customers to join them and take a step back in time to enjoy the sounds of a live Big Band. Bring your own lawn chair as the parking lot of this restaurant will be transformed into an outdoor concert setting.

Ain't nothing better than a big wall of swinging brass while you and your baby cut some rug. Rochester big band leader Jack Allen has been blowing his horn for more than 70 years, starting out on street corners in the Portland Avenue neighborhood, leading his own band - The Ziggy Allen Big Band - while attending Franklin High School, blowing reveille during the Korean War, and touring the States with The Tommy Reynolds Big Band. Allen is a class act whose horn blasts beautifully over his awesome charts, and his saxophone section is smoother and creamier than Pittsford Dairy chocolate milk. They don't make 'em like this anymore.
Jack Allen's Big Band plays for the Tim Horton's Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization that sends economically challenged kids to camp, Wednesday, June 6, outside Tim Horton's, 1580 Jefferson Road, 424-4480, 6:30-8 p.m., free.
